Restylane® Fillers Questions and Answers

Restylane treatments generally last between six to 12 months after injection. However, the duration of the results will vary from patient to patient, just like with other injectable fillers or cosmetic enhancers. Factors that affect the duration include the patient’s lifestyle, metabolism, muscle volume and movement, the severity of the treated areas, and the unique characteristics of the skin.

The professional clinician performing the procedure can make a good estimate as to how long you can expect the effects of Restylane to last. The duration of the effects of Restylane varies from area to area. For example, Restylane injected in lips wears off quicker than that in another part of the face or skin, with the average effect of Restylane in lip treatments and enhancements being three to six months. In areas other than the lips, the effect is usually longer, averaging six to nine months, with results lasting up to 12 months in some patients.

The fillers take some time to reach their full effect, although some results are visible immediately. After the injections, the gel adds volume that improves the contouring of your face right away. This helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles while giving your skin more support that smoothens the texture.

The effect of Restylane fillers is immediate. Patients see the results of the fillers right after the procedure and full effects will be seen within a few weeks. Restylane does not have any downtime, however, it may take up to 4 weeks for the full result to take effect and be visible. This also slows down visible signs of aging.
