PDO Threadlift Procedure Questions and Answers

Everyone knows that BOTOXⓇ works best on the upper part of the face. Dermal fillers work best in the middle of the face. So what works on the lower part of the face and the neck? Those areas can sometimes be the most susceptible to the aging process. Gravity drags the skin downward, so obviously the most sagging and loose skin can be found at the bottom of the face.

Thankfully, at Cara Mia Med Spa we offer PDO Threadlifts to correct the symptoms of aging in the lower part of the face. PDO Threads are not limited to the lower part of the face, but, much like BOTOXⓇ in the forehead and dermal fillers around the mouth, PDO Threads work best in the neck and jawline.

What is a PDO Threadlift?

PDO Threads create a process known as “controlled healing,” which refers to the strategic placement of threads via hypodermic needles underneath the skin to promote collagen production. PDO is a synthetic surgical suture that is fully absorbed into the body in 4 to 6 months and is completely harmless. The body repairs itself around the threads, which, depending on how the threads are injected, creates a lifting and filling out effect. The results can either be drastic and immediate or subtly natural and gradual, depending on the technique used to inject the threads as well as the desired result. Once the PDO Threads are fully absorbed you will be left with no scar tissue.
A PDO Threadlift is a painless, nonsurgical procedure that is so quick and requires no downtime so it can be performed on a lunchbreak. The threads are injected 2-3 mm deep in the skin and they cannot be felt from the surface.

Side Effects of a PDO Threadlift

The most common side effects associated with a PDO Threadlift are temporary discomfort, soreness, and bruising. Results last from 12-18 months and if patients experience any unwanted results, the PDO material allows the sutures to be reversed/removed up until the point of full absorption.
